Florian Hetz turned to photography in 2007 after encephalitis caused significant memory loss, initially as a way to document his daily life during recovery. This practice evolved into a deeper inquiry into memory’s fractured and personal nature.

His dreamlike images capture the ambiguities of recall, exploring how our minds reassemble fragments of reality and shape our sense of self. Hetz’s work, featured in three books and numerous international exhibitions, resonates for its emotional honesty and intimate perspective.

Living in Berlin, he continues to develop visual narratives that delve into human consciousness.
